Mr. McTurk, Wilson’s teacher, asked him to do a project looking at African coffee since they were opening up their fundraising cafe a couple of weeks ago. At Montessori, the Erkinder (grade 7 and 8) class learn about running a small business through hosting a coffee shack outside the main doors to the school in the morning when the weary eyed parents arrive. They serve up a host of coffee brews, and as such Wilson’s teacher included him in on the opening of the cafe by asking him to do a report on coffee in Africa.
We were very lucky to be staying at a coffee plantation at the end of our trip in the Serengeti, and even luckier to have the opportunity to tour the plantation. Here is his presentation.
